The Beta AR gloves are serious gloves for outdoor adventurers and keep my hands nice and toasty on cold winter nights (or any season in Iceland). They are not cheap and may be out of price range for people who don’t live in cold climates and need these types of gloves on a regular basis. However, after using them this year, they have become a permanent addition to my pack when travelling to cold weather locations.
The drawstrings keep cold air from entering around my wrists and the curved fingertips are ideal for maintaining a firm grasp on my tripod or camera at all times. Each finger in the construction of these gloves is formed individually giving your hands some serious dexterity even though they are covered in leather and Gore-Tex. Other positives about this set of gloves is the fact that they are made partially of Gore-Tex which means that they are waterproof, wind proof, and breathable. The liner in these gloves is made with premium high-loft Polartec Wind Pro on the back and lighter-weight Polartec Thermal on the palm side. This allows your hands to stay warm yet at the same time give you maximum amount of mobility and dexterity when wearing the Beta AR gloves.
If you’re looking for smaller, lighter gloves, then I would suggest taking a look at the Venta LT Gloves which are also one third the price of these Beta ARs which I like to think of as the Ferrari of gloves.
