I’m back in Iceland with my good friend Patrick Di Fruscia to run another photo tour for Discovery Photo Tours. This is our first winter tour in this magnificent country and being in Iceland at this time of year allows us to take advantage of all the stunning locations that we regularly stop at to photograph but also some ice caves and a better shot at capturing the incredible Aurora Borealis!
After the tour, Patrick and I will be joined by our buddies Ori and Erik from ViewBug for a short expedition to some of our favourite places in Iceland as well as some new ones! The expedition is sponsored by Fujifilm, ViewBug and Discovery Photo Tours and I’m excited to be using my new Fujifilm X-Pro2 mirrorless camera and my awesome new FUJINON XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens!

I’m also happy to announce a new photo contest that we are doing which will give participants the opportunity to win their very own FUJINON XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens. :-)
Head on over to the official contest site to submit your images and don’t forget to sign up for the Discovery Photo Tours newsletter to get the free e-book I wrote on how to improve your travel photography.

World Expeditions Photo Contest

But wait… There’s more ;-)
After the expedition is over and the ViewBug/Discovery Photo Tours crew heads back to the beautiful city of Reykjavik, we will be hosting a photo walk where we are looking forward to meeting local Icelandic photographers and any visitors who will be in town at the same time. No special equipment needed. Any camera will do, yes, even your phone! We just want to share our love for photography and Iceland with everyone that shows up.
We’ll be giving away some cool swag from Fujifilm and Viewbug to many of the photo walk participants. The event is 100% free and hey, you could win some cool stuff and meet some new friends. Sounds like a party to me!
After the walk is done, we invite everyone to join us for a drink at a location to be determined.
Keep up-to-date with all the details on the official ViewBug event page on Facebook.
The photo walk takes place Tuesday, March 15at 5 PM – 8 PM
Meeting point is Hallgrimskirkja Reykjavic (the awesomely cool iconic church)

Photos from Iceland are appreciated – especially for those who don\’t have the $$ to make a trip up there! Taking photos of crying babies, weddings, and fruit, are not as exciting as photos of beautiful destinations such as Iceland.
