Sunrise in Tuscany… Does the view get any better than this?

Sunrise at Val d’Orcia in Tuscany
This is just one of the amazing locations I will be taking a group of photography and Italy enthusiasts this October on our newly announced dream photo tour of Italy.
Being surrounded by this kind of beautiful scenery and landscape opens up all sorts of possibilities for incredible photography. It’s easy to see why so many of the world all time greatest artists come from from Tuscany. Inspiration exists around every corner and the place is pure magic itself.
This is one of those images that required a bit of post production tweaking to bring out the details of the billowing fog in the hills and warm hues in the sky. As we waited for the sun to pop out and give us some fire in the sky we were not convinced that it would happen. Being patient is key and often rewarded with a brief moment where all the elements come together. It’s like these moments are supposed to happen but you have to be ready. Once the image is captured, then (to use a Michelangelo analogy) it’s on to chiseling off the marble to get to the angel inside.
“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”
~Michelangelo
On our tour will be heading to Rome, Umbria, Tuscany, Florence, and Cinque Terre. We are making this tour not just about the great photography opportunities but also about Italian history, culture, food, wine, art, architecture, and so much more. Italy needs to be experienced with all the senses and while it is visually appealing beyond belief, that is just one aspect of what you will walk away with in terms of experiences on our tour.
There is no better place to hone your photography skills than in the locations that I have carefully selected for our Italy Dream Tour. You’ll also have the chance to go on incredible food tours and savour some of the most delicious local Italian fare imaginable. You will visit incredible historic sites like the Roman Colosseum and the Cathedral in Florence and get VIP access to areas that are otherwise off limits to the general public. Also on the itinerary is a visit to a Tuscan winery and some of the finest art museums in the world. All of the very best of what Italy has to offer is included in the tour along with expert photographic guides in me and local guides to share local history, art, and culture.
“Italy is a dream that keeps returning for the rest of your life.”
~Anna Akhmatova
