Happy Birthday to… My Travel Photo Blog!
It’s hard to believe that a year has gone by since I first started writing my travel photo blog, but here it is, one year later. I had no idea if anyone would ever read the stories, or see my photos, and if they did, would they care? Would they like them, would they come back? Well, to some degree, it would seem that people do like what they are seeing. Visitors from over 4,000 cities spanning 153 countries have honoured me with their visits. Quite a number of you return again, and again. I never knew that there were so many people out there with such exquisite taste ;)
In this year I have managed to get 12,000 followers on Twitter and be placed on nearly 1,000 Twitter lists. I have 1,200 awesome people that have joined my Facebook photography page, and all these numbers are growing. It is really rewarding for me as a photographer/artist, to know that people are actually into what I’m doing creatively. I love art in all its forms, and I’m a big fan of the people who dedicate their lives to enriching us with their art. I hope that in some way, what I’m doing adds some positive, creative energy into your lives.
Now that I have a full year’s experience with this blogging thing, I’m looking to take things a step or two further. I already have plans for some new features that I’ll be sharing with you here on the site. In fact, tomorrow will have the first of these new features, so come by to see what I have in store for you. I’m also curious to know what you, my readers would like to see here on my blog. I’m always open for suggestions, so if you’d like to see anything in particular, I’m listening. While I can’t promise to do everything I’m asked, I will do my best to make things even more interesting, your input is very important to me! I know that most people who come here are travel and photography enthusiasts, and these are the topics I plan to delve deeper into, with some reviews, tips, contests, and other fun stuff. Leave your suggestions in the comment area, or drop me a line. Something tells me, that the best ideas are going to come from you.
Keep checking in to see what’s new, I have a whole lot of exciting new images from all over to share with you, and a few surprises along the way.
Two ways to make sure that you are kept up to date with what’s going on here on my blog, are subscribing to the RSS feed, or subscribing to the blog updates via email. Just click on the respective buttons below and you’ll never miss a new blog post!
As you can see by the gallery of photographs below, I have been fortunate to be able to visit some rather amazing places in the last two years. I went through some difficult times, both professionally and personally, in the year before I embarked on this journey to see the world, and document it in my own way. All this made me re evaluate my priorities and goals in life, so it was a conscious decision to change what I was photographing, and how I was taking these photos. I wanted to do something that was more personally rewarding, something that would allow me to rediscover my passion for photography. It hasn’t always been easy, but what in life is, right? So here I am, still going strong, and happy to have so many people encouraging me to continue with my work. The traveling that I have done, has allowed me to meet so many incredible people, and hopefully this is just the beginning. I’m extremely grateful for every nice comment, email, tweet, phone call, and encounter. Thank you for this support, you’ve all made a positive change in my life, by taking the time to share your kindness with me.
